The challenge
Buyers were increasingly starting their research inside ChatGPT and Perplexity, asking questions like "best onboarding software for fintech" or "how to reduce SaaS churn." The platform ranked reasonably well in classic Google search, but AI assistants were recommending competitors and never mentioning it. The brand had no visibility into why — and no framework for earning a place in AI-generated answers. Every uncited question was a warm buyer handed straight to a rival.
The strategy
MindJek ran a combined GEO and AEO program: make the brand the clearest, most quotable authority on the questions its buyers actually ask, so both Google snippets and large language models pull from it.
- AI-answer audit — tracked how ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews answered 40+ category questions and who they cited
- Answer-first content restructure — led every key page with a crisp, extractable definition followed by the supporting detail
- Entity & schema work — strengthened the brand's entity with consistent naming, Organization and FAQ structured data and authoritative external mentions
- Comparison & "best tool for" content — built the honest, well-sourced pages AI models prefer to quote
- Digital PR for citations — earned mentions on the third-party sources LLMs lean on, reinforcing trust
The results
Within a quarter, the brand was being cited by name in ChatGPT and Perplexity for nine of its priority buyer questions, and it captured 12+ featured snippets in Google for the same queries. Because those answers now sit at the very top of the buyer's research journey, AI-referred signups grew 38% — a segment that barely existed before. Sales also reported warmer conversations, with prospects arriving already aware of the product because "the AI recommended it."

"Finally an agency that explains the 'why'. Their GEO work got us cited by ChatGPT — something we didn't even know was possible."
